Strengthening the System II Alaska’s Comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Program Plan (FY2025-FY2029)

Strengthening the System II

Alaska’s Comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Program Plan

(FY2025-FY2029)

The Department of Health (DOH) and The Department of Family and Community Services (DFCS), in coordination with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (Trust) and other state boards, commissions, and agencies, have developed this draft Comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Program Plan as required under AS 47.30.660.

This draft plan was developed through a collaborative stakeholder-driven process with a vision for Alaskans to receive comprehensive prevention, treatment, and support services at the appropriate level of care across the lifespan to lead to meaningful lives in their home communities, especially those Alaskans that receive services under this plan.  These recipients, referred to as Trust beneficiaries, are Alaskans who experience a mental illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities, chronic alcoholism & drug dependence, or suffer from a traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, or related dementia. Also included are individuals at risk of developing these conditions.

DOH and DFCS extend an invitation for public comment on this plan. Public commentary on each Area of Focus of the plan ensures that it reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of the community it serves, Trust beneficiaries, and inevitably all Alaskans. Your comments will be looked at by the planning teams during the remaining completion of the plan.
