Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Granite Construction Company

PROJECT NAME: LAS 34811

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Designated material site, ADL 419494, DOT MS 52-2-051-2, located at Milepost 230 of the Parks Highway, also known as the McKinley Village Pit.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Tract D of ASLS 83-194, recorded as plat no. 85-11, Nenana Recording District, containing approximately 13.2 acres, more or less. The requested activity would use 5.22 of the 13.2-acre material site.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Granite Construction Company requests the use of the above referenced material site as a construction support site for the Polychrome Pass Bridge project in Denali National Park. The bridge ensures public safety and access to popular park destinations by replacing the stretch of road displaced by an active landslide at Denali Park Road Mile 43. The proposed operation includes a staging area to store equipment, bridge construction materials, and a non-residential mobile office building. General public access to the site would be restricted during project operations. Entry would still be given to authorized users.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: January 1, 2024
End: November 30, 2026

The public is invited to comment on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above.
