Applicant’s Name: Alaska Regional Hospital
Project/Activity: Establishment of a Hospital Satellite Emergency Department in Anchorage, Alaska
Alaska Regional Hospital proposes to expand its existing emergency department capacity by constructing a Hospital Satellite Emergency Department, in south Anchorage. The new construction will consist of 10,860 square feet, be a free-standing building and encompass twelve (12) emergency treatment rooms, one (1) CT Scanner, one (1) X-ray machine, one (1) Ultrasound machine, five (5) cardiac monitoring machines, one (1) portable X-ray machine, and one (1) portable C-Arm X-ray machine.
Total Cost of the Project: $17,621,000
Estimated completion date: January 1, 2025

Summary of Decision: In accordance with AS 18.07 and 7 AAC 07, ARH’s request for a Certificate of Need for its Hospital Satellite Emergency Department has been denied.
Any member of the public who is substantially affected by activities authorized by this certificate of need may initiate an administrative hearing under 7 AAC 07.082.
