The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry & Fire Protection (DOF), gives formal notice under AS 38.05.945 (a)(3) that the Division has made available for public review a Draft Forest Land Use Plan under AS 38.05.035(e) regarding the following commercial timber sales:

Willer Kash Area Timber Sales 2023 (SC-2023-01A)

This Draft Forest Land Use Plan covers approximately 256 acres, divided into eight harvest units in the Willer-Kash Block, approximately 7 miles east of Willow.  The estimated total volume to be offered is 419,000 board feet of beetle-killed white spruce and 3,980 cunits of birch. The legal description for these proposed sales is Township 20 North, Range 3 West, Sections 4, 7, 8, 9, 17, 28, and 29. A final finding and decision for these sale units was issued July 14, 2023.

The public and agencies are invited to comment on any aspect of the Draft Forest Land Use Plan for these proposed timber sales.  Comments should be mailed to the Division of Forestry, Mat-Su Area Office, 101 Airport Road, Palmer, AK 99645 and/or emailed to: stephen.nickel@alaska.gov. Comments must be received at the Division of Forestry no later than October 25, 2023 in order to be considered.
