Notice of Intent and Public Comment - Glenn Highway MP 158-172 Rehabilitation



The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is soliciting comments on the proposed Glenn Highway MP 158-172 Rehabilitation project. DOT&PF plans to rehabilitate the Glenn Highway from milepost 158-172. The pavement will be replaced through the entire length of the project. In some low-lying areas the embankment will be excavated and reconstructed. Additional work activities include replacement of culverts, replacement of roadside hardware such as signs and guardrail, and drainage improvements.

The following material sources are anticipated to be made available to the contractor:
• MS 42-3-008-5 Tolsona Pit at approx. MP 170.5 of the Glenn Highway
• MS 42-3-015-5 Atlasta Creek Site at approx. MP 165 of the Glenn Highway
• MS 809-001-5 One Mile Pit at approx. MP 1 of Lake Louise Rd (MP 160 of the Glenn Highway)

The project construction is scheduled for Spring/Summer 2027

This proposed project complies with the following Executive Orders (EO):
EO 11990, Notice of Wetland Involvement
EO 12898, Environmental Justice
EO 11593, Protection and Enhancement of the Cultural Environment
EO 11988, Floodplain Management
EO 13112, Invasive Species
