Draft Mineral Order Public Comment Period
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has issued draft Mineral Order (MO) 1266 for public review and comment. This MO would reopen certain areas to mineral entry in the Murphy Dome area north of Fairbanks, Alaska, more specifically described in the draft mineral order at the URL below. Under 11 AAC 55.270, any person, group or agency may propose a classification or reclassification under AS 38.05.300. Felix Gold Alaska Treasure Creek, Inc. has requested that DNR reopen to mineral entry the areas described in Draft MO 1266, so that mineral exploration of the area can proceed. Once approved, this mineral order would reopen lands previously closed under Mineral Closing Order (MCO) 228 and MCO 67A03. This mineral order affects approximately 720 acres of state-owned lands.
Your written comments are encouraged during this public comment period. To facilitate your review and comment, the Draft Mineral Order is attached. Comments on the Draft MO must be received no later than May 22, 2023 by mail, email, or fax.
