Alaska Workforce Infusion Grants (AWIG)
Request for Grant Applications for State Fiscal Year 2024
The Alaska Workforce Investment Board (AWIB) requests grant applications for training projects in priority industries under the Alaska Workforce Infusion Grants (AWIG). The AWIB has approximately 3 million dollars to award for projects that will increase recruitment, training, and staff retention and help grow Alaska’s workforce.
Alaska is grappling with a worker shortage, which will be an ongoing constraint on job growth in 2023. As Alaska’s economy recovers, the worker shortage will make filling positions, including those created by infrastructure spending, difficult to fill. Alaska is projected to add 5,300 jobs in 2023.
The attached Request for Grant Applications (RGA) includes additional detailed information regarding this solicitation.
Three Microsoft Teams teleconferences will be held to answer questions about the AWIG program, this RGA, and the application process. Applications must be entered into the Grants Management System.
