Proposed Activity:
Review of a new plan application package for an Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan that is required to commit adequate resources to meet all planning requirements for prevention and response for a realistic maximum discharge from the operations of the Lagniappe Alaska, LLC (Lagniappe) South Badami Area Exploration Program. Lagniappe plans to conduct a multi-year onshore oil and gas exploration drilling program during winter months on the North Slope. Lagniappe plans to drill up to six oil and gas exploration wells over two winter seasons. This plan proposes to address a response planning standard of 82,500 barrels based on the default value of 5,500 barrels of oil per day for a blowout lasting 15 days.
Location:
The proposed drilling locations are located on lease tracts east of the Sagavanirktok River and within 60 miles of hydrocarbon recycling and disposal facilities in the Prudhoe Bay Unit.

A potential risk exists of oil spills entering the lands or waters of the state as a result of this operation.

The department will hold a public hearing on the plan application if it determines that good cause exists.
