Pearl Creek Elementary School Access Improvements and Plug-Ins (CMAQ) Project

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is soliciting comments on the proposed improvements at Pearl Creek Elementary School in Fairbanks. DOT&PF plans to reconfigure the existing parking lot and access roads at the school in order to improve vehicle circulation and reduce vehicle idling. Parking lot work includes installation of new vehicle electrical plug-ins, ADA improvements, drainage improvements, paving, signs, and guardrail.
We are currently working on conceptual designs, engineering, and environmental studies. Construction is currently planned for summer 2024.
DOT&PF requests information and comments on resources in the project area that may be affected including historic properties and archaeological sites.
The project is being developed in accordance with the following Executive Orders (EO):
