The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil and Gas (Division) received a Miscellaneous Land Use Permit application on February 14, 2023, from SAExploration Seismic Services (US), LLC (SAE) requesting authorization to conduct a seismic survey in the Anchor Point Area.

Project Description:
The seismic survey would cover 4.2 square miles onshore and 1.2 square miles offshore within the Kenai Peninsula Borough. Autonomous nodal seismic recording equipment would be used to collect data in both environments. In the onshore environment, clearwater directional explosives would be used to determine the need for subsurface imaging. Clearwater sources would be placed at 55-foot intervals and conventional sources would be placed at 330-foot intervals and cover 1.8 square miles of the onshore environment. Data in the offshore environment would be captured by marine operations with tethered nodal devices.
