NOTICE OF ADOPTED CHANGES IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

Regulations dealing with raw milk and raw milk products were adopted by the Department of Environmental Conservation on February 24, 2023, with an effective date of March 26, 2023. The regulations have been made permanent and have been filed by the Lt. Governor. The regulations will appear in Register 245, April 2023, of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations changes are summarized as follows:

The regulations were amended to allow for the production and sale of raw milk and raw milk products. Standards were set for product labeling; time and temperature holding requirements; facility specifications; producer and retailer registration; voluntary product testing; and herd health. 

The following sections was amended:

18 AAC 32.010, 18 AAC 32.060

The following new sections was added:

18 AAC 32.070
