Vessel Charter Services-LOT Procurement for the Marine Salmon Program

The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries, is soliciting bids for a fully functional trawl fishing vessel(s) to provide living quarters and operations base for activities relating to juvenile salmon research in waters of the western Gulf of Alaska and Southern Bering Sea. This solicitation may result in the issuing of two contracts.

Prior Experience:

In order for a bid to be considered responsive the bidder must meet these minimum prior experience requirements:

Crew to consist of a USCG licensed captain with at least one (1) year of trawl fishing experience OR crew will obtain a Letter of Designation by the USCG as an Oceanographic Research Vessel (ORV) for this contract (same 1 year of trawl fishing experience applies).

• Remaining crew will consist of a minimum of three (3) experienced fishermen (for a total of four (4) crew members; captain plus crew).
• One of the fishermen must be an engineer with one (1) year of experience aboard fishing vessels and fully knowledgeable of the charter vessel and equipment.

A bidder's failure to meet these minimum prior experience requirements will cause their bid to be considered non-responsive and rejected.

Deadline for receipt of bid:

Bids must be received no later than 2pm, Alaska Time on March 1, 2023, at which time they will be publicly opened. Late bids or amendments will be disqualified and not opened or accepted for evaluation.
