Notice of Adopted Changes to the Regulations of the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives

On October 26, 2022, the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 14 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The amendments primarily concern updates to 12 AAC 14 setting initial certification and renewal requirements, continuing competency requirements, and defining the certified direct-entry midwife scope of practice.

The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor (or designee) on January 23, 2023, and will go into effect on February 22, 2023. See attached copy of the filed version of the regulations.

The new regulation changes will be printed in Register 245, April 2023 of the Alaska Administrative Code.
