Notice of Adopted Changes to the Regulations of the Board of Pharmacy

On June 16, 2022, the Board of Pharmacy adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 52 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations concern licensure, registration, change of pharmacy location, name or ownership, licensure by examination, internship requirements and license, examination, out-of-state pharmacy registration, pharmacy technicians, pharmacist-in-charge, cooperative practice agreement, refills, patient counseling, wholesale drug distributor license, facilities, facility manager, definitions, prescription drug monitoring program, and display of license certificate.

The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor (or designee) on November 28, 2022, and will go into effect on December 28, 2022. See attached copy of the filed version of the regulations.

The new regulation changes will be printed in Register 244, January 2023 of the Alaska Administrative Code.
