The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to approve a permit for a Class III Municipal Solid Waste Landfill. The permit #SW3A204 will be issued to the City of Gambell.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Gambell landfill is an existing landfill that has been in operation from the 1980’s. The City of Gambell is working towards bringing their existing landfill into compliance by obtaining its first ever landfill permit. The City of Gambell recently collaborated with local partners on cleaning up the landfill, securing the site, and implementing signage. The landfill will accept municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, inert material, school and store wastes, metals, and ash.
