The Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation (FAST) Planning 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Update public comment period is from November 20, 2022-December 20, 2022. The MTP is the federally required 20-year long-range plan that is updated regularly to comply with the “continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive” planning process. The MTP lays out the long-range vision for the transportation system in the urbanized area of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, including Fairbanks and North Pole. This plan guides the transportation network improvements for motor vehicles, transit, pedestrians, bicyclists, and freight users.
