The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to approve a permit modification request for expansion of the Fort Greely Class II Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, Solid Waste Disposal Permit No. SW2A008-22.

 PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Fort Greely Class II Municipal Solid Waste Landfill currently accepts municipal solid waste and construction and demolition debris from the Base. Fort Greely is proposing a lateral and vertical expansion of the landfill. The proposed expansion will increase the total acreage available for potential waste disposal to approximately 41.3 acres.

Since the proposed expansion requires a modification of the current permit, ADEC is providing public notice of the proposed expansion. Please note that ADEC is only requesting comments on the proposed expansion.
