Notice of Availability of an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the construction of 2-cell Lagoon with Access and Forcemain in Hooper Bay, Alaska under management of Village Safe Water (VSW). The FONSI includes the following construction activities:
- Construct a 2-cell facultative lagoon, approximately 27.5 acres, a lift station (approximately 336 ft2), and approximately 1.1 mile of forcemain extension.
- The lift station will also incorporate a backup emergency generator, fuel storage, and will receive electrical service from nearby power.

SUMMARY: This notice advises the public an EA and FONSI for the proposed 2-cell Lagoon with Access and Forcemain in Hooper Bay, Alaska are available for public review. The public review period will last 30 days from the date of Public Notification.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Village Safe Water has prepared an EA for the 2-cell Lagoon with Access and Forcemain for the City of Hooper Bay, Alaska. The purpose of the proposed action is to construct a 2-cell facultative lagoon. The project is needed to address public health concerns associated with the existing wastewater deficiencies.
Based on the EA, the Indian Health Service has determined the proposed action will not have a significant impact on the quality of the human environment.
