Project Title: HoWL Stewardship Expeditions

Brief Description of Proposed Project:
HoWL has proposed the following the trail work expeditions to be conducted by HoWL Instructors and
youth participants in the summers of 2023 and 2024. These trips are in direct collaboration with the
Kachemak Bay State Park and Friends of Kachemak Bay State Parks.
1. Perform brushing on the Sadie Knob trail
2. Improve trail visibility on Alpine Ridge by brushing and placing cairns above tree line
3. Restore the Grewingk Lake Campsite by picking up litter and removing non-designated campfire
rings
4. Maintain the Kachemak Crack Campsite by brushing around the bases of climbs, restoring
campsite trails, and picking up litter along the adjacent Glacier Spit Beach
5. Improve trail visibility by brushing on the Grace Ridge Trail
6. Perform brushing on the Moose Valley Trail Proposed Timeline of the Project:
