NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATION

Pursuant to AS 46.15.133 and 11 AAC 93.080, notice is hereby given that the City of Lower Kalskag, P.O. Box 69, Lower Kalskag, Alaska 99626 applied for a permit to appropriate water on April 4, 2014. The application proposes the following:
The withdrawal of up to 90,000 gallons per day from January 1st through December 31st total from two drilled wells (LK #1 & LK #2) located within Section 33, Township 17 North, Range 61 West, Seward Meridian.
The proposed use is a public water supply for the City of Lower Kalskag within Sections 32 and 33, Township 17 North, Range 61 West and Sections 2 and 3, Township 16 North, Range 62 West, Seward Meridian.
Per AS 46.15.133 (a), within 15 days of publication or service of notice, persons may file with the director written objections. Comments or objections must be made in writing to the above listed address or to tina.mayer@alaska.gov by 5:00 p.m. on the last day of the fifteen (15) day public comment period. Pursuant to 11 AAC 93.080 (6), “The public comment period set by AS 46.15.133 (c) begins the first day the newspaper publication appears, or the first day of posting, or upon receipt of the notice as evidenced by the certified mail receipt, date stamp, or other evidence of actual service.”
Objection must include the objector’s name and address, and any facts tending to show that the rights of the objector or the public interest would be adversely affected by the proposed appropriation.
