Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is working on a proposed road project to rehabilitate the existing 12.1 miles of Totchaket road and extend the road west an additional 19 miles to end near the Kantishna River at a parking area with a ramp down to the river. When complete, the project will improve the road grade, add drainage and erosion control measures, and provide improved access to the valley west of Nenana for agriculture, hunting, fishing, and other recreational uses.
