NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES ON MEDICAID ELECTRONIC VISIT VERIFICATION REQUIREMENTS IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION The Department of Health proposes to change regulations on Medicaid electronic visit verification (EVV) requirements for home health care and specialized private-duty nursing services. |
The Department of Health proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 7 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with the requirements for a provider of Medicaid-funded home health care and specialized private-duty nursing services to use an electronic visit verification (EVV) system to monitor in-home service delivery, including the following:
- 7 AAC 105.230. Medicaid Provider and Recipient Participation. Requirements for provider records, is proposed to be changed as follows:
- Amend introductory language.
- 7 AAC 125. Medicaid Coverage; Personal Care Services and Home Health Care Services.
- Add a new section that requires a provider of home health care services to use an EVV system.
- 7 AAC 130.285. Medicaid Coverage; Home and Community-Based Waiver Services
- Add a new subsection that requires a provider of specialized private-duty nursing services to use an EVV system.
- Add new subsections related to the EVV requirements for specialized private-duty nursing services.
You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to the State of Alaska, Department of Health, Division of Senior and Disabilities Services, Attention: Jetta Whittaker, P.O. Box 110680, Juneau, Alaska 99811-0680. Additionally, the Department of Health will accept comments by facsimile at (907) 465-1170 and by electronic mail at jetta.whittaker@alaska.gov . The comments must be received not later than 5:00 p.m. on August 26, 2022.

The Department of Health will aggregate its response to substantially similar questions and make the questions and responses available on the Alaska Online Public Notice System.

After the public comment period ends, the Department of Health will either adopt the proposed regulation changes or other provisions dealing with the same subject, without further notice, or decide to take no action. The language of the final regulation may be different from that of the proposed regulation. You should comment during the time allowed if your interests could be affected.
