The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Peak Gold, LLC’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ1616MSS01 for the Manh Choh Project.

Activity: Peak Gold, LLC applied for a minor permit under 18 AAC 50.502(b)(3) for the construction, operation, or relocation of a stationary source containing a rock crusher with a rated capacity of at least five tons per hour.

Emissions: The potential annual emissions of regulated air pollutants at the stationary source will not exceed: 38 tpy NOx, 165 tpy CO, 6.9 tpy VOC, 13.1 tpy of PM-2.5, 133.3 tpy of PM-10, and 27.2 tpy of SO 2 .

ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.

ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period.
