Proposed Project and Location:
The proposed authorization under general permit AKG521000, Onshore Seafood Processors in Alaska, authorizes a different project area Zone of Deposit than that previously public noticed with the General Permit.  The proposed project area Zone of Deposit coordinates in Port of Valdez are:

Seafloor surveying completed in September 2021 identified 3.12 acres of continuous waste coverage at the facility site, which exceeds the 1.0 acres of waste coverage authorized under the General Permit. Therefore, the permittee is required to submit a Remediation Plan to DEC by June 1, 2022 as a condition of this discharge authorization.

Tentative Determination:
DEC has tentatively determined to issue an authorization effective June 1, 2022 to Peter Pan Seafood Company LLC Valdez Plant to discharge under the general permit for the activity described above.

Public Comments:
Written comments on the proposed authorization to discharge under an APDES general permit must be submitted within 30 days of the issuance of this public notice. All comments should include the name, address, and telephone number of the commenter and a concise statement of comment on the permit condition(s) and the relevant facts upon which the comment is based. Mailed comments must be postmarked on or before the expiration date of the public notice.
