Notice of Application for State Air Quality Permit AQ0245TVP05 Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility, John M. Asplund Water Pollution Control Facility

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to issue renewal Air Quality Control Operating Permit AQ0245TVP05 to the John M. Asplund Water Pollution Control Facility, under Alaska Statutes 46.14 and regulation 18 AAC 50.
 
Applicant: Anchorage Water & Wastewater Utility (AWWU) 3000 Arctic Boulevard, Anchorage, AK 99503

Location: 2300 Hutson Drive, Anchorage, AK 99502
 
Activity: The John M. Asplund Water Pollution Control Facility treats wastewater.

Application: AWWU submitted the application on December 14, 2021.
 
Emissions: The potential annual emissions of regulated air pollutants at the source will not exceed: 12.9 tons PM, 73.2 tons NOx, 1.1 tons SO 2 , 173.5 tons CO, and 14.9 tons VOCs. The total annual emissions of regulated air pollutants is 275.6 tons.
 
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for the Water Pollution Control Facility.
 
Available Information: Copies of the permit application, ADEC’s draft operating permit and statement of basis are available at the following ADEC offices M–F from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents by the close of the public comment period. Written comments will be included in the record if received by close of the comment period. ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or state law. ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period.
