Proposed Activity:
Review of a plan renewal application package for an Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan that is required to commit adequate resources to meet all planning requirements for prevention and response for a realistic maximum discharge from the operations of the Badami Unit Exploration, Production & Pipeline Operations. The Badami Unit facility consists of a series of wells and the Central Processing Facility (CPF) on a gravel pad, a gravel airstrip, gravel storage pad, and a dock all connected by gravel roads. A crude oil transmission pipeline and a gas utility pipeline run 25 miles between Badami and Endicott. The plan proposes to address an adjusted response planning standard (RPS) of 4,275 barrels for the largest storage tank at the Badami oil terminal facility, a 6,000-barrel RPS for an assisted lift production well blowout, a 82,500-barrel RPS for an exploration well blowout, and an adjusted crude oil transmission pipeline (COTP) RPS of 1,072 barrels. The adjusted COTP RPS is based on the pipeline segment with the highest calculated RPS.

The Badami Unit is located within the North Slope Borough of the State of Alaska, 31 miles east of Deadhorse, near the coast of Mikkelsen Bay.
