Purpose: To provide the public with the opportunity to comment on the state’s draft policy and procedures for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Agricultural Outreach Plan.

Background:

To provide an evaluation of agricultural activity in the state, and to identify labor-intensive crops, months of heavy activity, and geographic areas of prime activity. Determine the agricultural employers’ needs in the state; assess any economic, natural, or other factors that are affecting agriculture in the state or any projected factors that will affect agriculture in the state of Alaska. These efforts also include the assessment of the unique needs of Alaska farmworkers, in order to provide farmworker outreach, employment services, and worker training.
