Notice of Issuance of the Northwest Mount Spurr Noncompetitive Geothermal Prospecting Permit Final Written Finding of the Director
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Oil and Gas (DO&G), gives notice that it has issued the Northwest Mount Spurr Noncompetitive Geothermal Prospecting Permit Final Written Finding of the Director, and that the director has found that disposing of the Northwest Mount Spurr Geothermal Prospecting Permit is in the best interests of the state.
The director determined that the potential benefits of issuing the noncompetitive prospecting permit to GeoAlaska, LLC, as conditioned outweigh the possible adverse effects. The director found that issuing the prospecting permit to GeoAlaska, LLC to explore for geothermal resources on state-owned unencumbered lands within the Prospecting Permit Area is in the best interest of the state.
The Written Finding is available on DO&G’s website at http://dog.dnr.alaska.gov/Services/ExplorationLicensing?page=geothermal
