The Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation (FAST) Planning Fairbanks Road/Rail Crossing Reduction/Realignment Plan is available for 45-day public review and comment from May 21-July 9, 2021. The purpose of the Plan is to implement a more efficient and effective approach to integrate road/rail crossing elements into the larger multi-modal and intermodal transportation framework, address at-grade road/rail crossings to relieve congestion on the roadways, and to improve network safety and efficiency. FAST Planning funded this study using Surface Transportation Program funding from the Federal Highway Administration.
