KEYSTONE CANYON ROCKFALL DEBRIS STORAGE AT
PIPELINE MILEPOST 781.7
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), pursuant to Alaska Statute (AS) 38.35.080, hereby gives notice that DNR has prepared an Analysis and Proposed Decision for an amendment request submitted by Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (APSC) to add land to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) Right-of-Way (ROW) Lease, ADL 63574, to remove approximately 11,000 cubic yards of rock located within the TAPS workpad at Pipeline Milepost (PLMP) 781.14, to a site that is approximately 3,000 feet south to PLMP 781.7, approximately 17 miles east of Valdez. The rock removal is a component of the rockfall mitigation project, which is also subject to adjudication as a lease amendment.
The proposed ROW expansion area is located within the SE1/4NW1/4, SW1/4NE1/4 of Section 23, Township 9 South, Range 4 West, Copper River Meridian; and contains approximately 3.8 acres, more or less.
The public is invited to comment on the Analysis and Proposed Decision. Comments must be submitted in writing to the address below before 5:00 p.m. on June 11, 2021. If public comment indicates the need for significant changes in the proposed decision, then additional public notice will be given on or after June 11, 2021. If no significant changes are required, then the proposed decision, including any minor changes, will be issued without further notice as the final decision after June 11, 2021.
