Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Haida Energy, Inc. (Haida Energy), filed TA1-760, requesting approval to increase the inception rate charge for energy generated by the Hiilangaay Hydroelectric Project (Project) from $0.1686 per kWh to $0.3001 per kWh.
In 2015 by Order U-15-012(2), the Commission approved the $0.1686 per kWh inception rate for the Project. Construction of the Project has been completed and it was placed in service on January 20, 2021. With this filing, Haida Energy is updating its inception energy rate under 3 AAC 48.275(b)(3) to reflect current Project projections of costs and sales in 2021, the first year in which the Project will be in service. Due to the updated cost and sales projections, Haida Energy is requesting an updated inception rate of $0.3001 per kWh.
Haida Energy proposes that the updated inception rate remain in effect until it files a revenue requirement study in 2023 using a 2022 test year. 2022 will be the Project’s first full year of operations.
