NOTICE OF UTILITY APPLICATION TO RELINQUISH CERTIFICATE

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that on January 7, 2021, University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) filed an application to relinquish Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (Certificate) No. 452 for the provision of intrastate interexchange service within Alaska. Docket U-20-001 was opened to address this matter.

UAF states that it provides service to only five customers and does not gross $50,000 annually, therefore, it does not need to maintain a certificate to provide service. UAF has filed direct notice of its intent to relinquish its certificate to its subscribers and local exchange and other intrastate interexchange carriers pursuant to 3 AAC 52.365. 

No motions for waiver or petitions for confidentiality were filed with the application. The Commission has not assessed the completeness of the application. The Commission may determine whether the applications are complete by January 29, 2021.
