Due to the COVID-19, the University of Alaska has imposed a restriction limiting group gatherings to ten individuals.To comply with this restriction UAA Facilities Planning & Construction will be conducting a pre-bid conference via teleconference to be followed by a restricted walkthrough of the project site.
A pre-bid conference will be conducted via teleconference followed by an onsite walk through. The teleconference will be held December 23, 2020 at 10:00 am, interested parties may participate by calling 1-866-832-7806 using the participant code 9120787. Immediately following the teleconference an onsite walkthrough of the project location will take place on December 23, 2020 at 10:15 am, at the University Center at 3901 Old Seward Hwy, Anchorage, AK 99503. IMPORTANT - due to the COVID-19 restrictions, University of Alaska Anchorage facilities have limited access, this facility will be locked and in order to ensure access to the facility for the pre-bid walkthrough interested parties shall be present at the time stated above for the walkthrough.
All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond provided by a surety authorized to do business in the State of Alaska on a form provided herein, or a cashier’s check. Bid security must be in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the maximum amount of the bid.
NOTE – Once the bid evaluation is complete the University will email a Determination of Responsibility letter to the apparent low bidder to provide the information listed below by close of business the following day following the issuance of the request. In accordance with the State of Alaska statutes, University contracts may be awarded only to responsible prospective contractors. The following information will be requested in order to make our determination:
- Verify that the total bid is correct.
- Verify that the bid represents the work as detailed in the contract documents.
- Provide a brief narrative describing the financial, material, equipment, facilities, personnel resources, and expertise of proposed subcontractors available to meet all contractual requirements.Specifically identify the project manager and project superintendent.
- Provide a list of projects the company has been involved with over the past five (5) years including any University of Alaska projects. (FOR CONTRACTORS WHO HAVE NOT WORKED WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF ANCHORAGE FACILITIES PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION)
- Provide three (3) references including the name, address, telephone number, firm and title. (FOR CONTRACTORS WHO HAVE NOT WORKED WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF ANCHORAGE FACILITIES PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION)
- Verify the company has not been terminated on any contract within the last five (5) years.
- Provide documentation to validate claimed preference(s).

Bidders must register through the web site to be notified of addenda. Bid documents are not available from the Architect or the Owner, but they may be obtained from most plan rooms and reprographic firms for a fee. Printed copies may be ordered from reprographic companies through the website or by contacting a reprographer directly.
Downloaded files may be printed on the plan holder’s equipment. Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs. Please go to www.aeplans.com to download the UAA project documents, for distribution to your members. No hard copies will be sent. Addenda to the project will be posted on the website. The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the site. The Contractor that is awarded the project will be responsible for printing all documents necessary for performing the work.
Prime Bidders, Sub Contractors and Suppliers obtaining bid documents are cautioned not to obtain partial or incomplete sets of bid documents (drawings and specifications) for the purposes of bidding. It is the responsibility of the bidder(s) to insure that complete sets of bid documents as posted on AEPlans are obtained. Neither the Owner nor the Architect shall be held responsible for errors in downloading or the printing of incomplete sets of documents by the bidder(s).
