Notice of Adopted Changes to the Regulations of the Board of Barbers and Hairdressers

On October 6, 2020, the Board of Barbers and Hairdressers adopted regulation changes to Title 12, Chapter 09 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations concern practical examinations, application requirements, and adding a “proficiency examination” to the training requirements for barbers, non-chemical barbers, hairdressers, and estheticians

The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor (or designee) on November 6, 2020, and will go into effect December 6, 2020.
See attached copy of the filed version of the regulations.

The new regulation changes will be printed in Register 236, January 2021 of the Alaska Administrative Code.
