Electronically submitted bids, in single copy, for the Irving 1 Hydronic Repairs project will be received by the University of Alaska, until Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., November 10, 2020, at the email address designated herein at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud via teleconference number listed for the pre-bid conference. The work consists of abatement and demolition of the heating distribution infrastructure serving Irving 1 hydronic perimeter heating. New piping, insulation, pumps, controls, electrical, and other appurtenances will be installed.

Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening.  Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited.  See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

Bid documents for this project are available for viewing and downloading free of charge on our Invitations and Proposals website at http://facilities.alaska.edu/uaf/fsProps/rfp.cfm.  Bid documents may also be viewed by appointment only at the office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska, 1850 Tanana Loop, Lola Tilly Building, UAF Campus, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda.  The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the site for addenda or additional information for the project.

Printed copies may be ordered by contacting a reprographer directly.  Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. via teleconference at the following toll-free number: (866) 832-7806, PIN 5658448. A one-and-a-half hour site visit may be arranged by appointment only for groups of nine or less between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. by contacting the Owner’s Representative named in Specification 01 31 00. A calendar will be available with the bid documents on our website to view available site visit times. Parking is limited and bidders are advised to purchase a day parking pass at one of the campus kiosks prior to the time and date of the site visit. Bid security is required to be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after a five percent (5%) preference and Alaska Products Preference have been applied.  Further instructions are contained within the Invitation for Bids.

The University of Alaska reserves the right to reject any or all bids, offers, or parts thereof it deems necessary, to waive any informality in the bid or offer received, and to award in the best interest of the University.
