Alaska Division of Insurance Now Offering Online Insurance Licensing Examinations

Alaska Division of Insurance Now Offering Online Insurance Licensing Examinations

October 9, 2020 (Juneau, Alaska) – Beginning today, Alaskan insurance license applicants have another choice when taking their insurance licensing examinations: the Alaska Division of Insurance is now offering the option to take all insurance licensing exams in an online format. The Division will be utilizing OnVue, an online testing platform operated by a third-party exam provider, Pearson Vue. This means a testing candidate can now choose to take their exam anywhere reliable internet access is available.

“Giving candidates another testing option serves several purposes,” said Lori Wing-Heier, Director of the Alaska Division of Insurance. “It lets us take another step towards Governor Dunleavy’s goal of easing regulatory requirements that could provide for greater efficiencies for Alaskan residents and businesses. It also gives candidates another convenient and socially distant testing option, particularly during the pandemic.”

In addition to the online licensing exam, the Division will continue to offer exams onsite at Pearson Vue authorized testing centers around the state.

For more information, or to schedule an exam, please visit the Division’s website or, https://home.pearsonvue.com/ak/insurance
