Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) filed TA495-8 proposing to change the methodology of its Cost of Power Adjustment (COPA) to reflect Chugach’s acquisition of most of the assets of the Municipality of Anchorage d/b/a Anchorage Municipal Light and Power (ML&P). Chugach proposes to calculate unified rates across its post-acquisition system to recover fuel costs, purchased power costs, and costs from the Fire Island Wind Project, consistent with its established COPA methodology. The proposed methodology incorporates the generation assets Chugach is acquiring from ML&P as well as projected fuel and power purchases and retail sales across the unified system. Chugach is not requesting approval of rates with this filing, only Commission approval of the proposed methodology.
