NOTICE OF INVITATION FOR BIDS

ANDERSON SEAWATER UPGRADES

Electronically submitted bids, in single copy, for the Anderson Seawater Upgrades project will be received by the University of Alaska, until Thursday, 2:00 p.m., September 24, 2020, at the email address designated herein at which time bids will be publicly read aloud via audio conference number, meeting ID, and passcode listed below for the pre-bid conference.  Submit electronic bids and bid bonds via email to:  UAS Facilities Services uas.facilities@alaska.edu.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The work of project defined by the contract document drawings and specifications is for the construction of a new 240 sf insulated wood framed building with sheetmetal cladding on the existing seawater vault, a timber-framed metal grating work-deck with stair and railing, and upgrades to the seawater pumps, piping and building automation system and automatic controls. The work includes preparation of the site for building construction, to include identified demolition of existing railings and noted elements.

Bid alternate #1 shall provide BAS work to be completed by Siemens, to integrate the existing UAS Andersen building bas control system and graphics with the new plc controls for the seawater system.

BIDDERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA REVIEWS AND ACCEPTS ALTERNATE PRODUCTS OR SYSTEMS PRIOR TO BID OPENING.  SUBSTITUTIONS AFTER AWARD ARE LIMITED.  SEE INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS AND THE GENERAL CONDITIONS.

Funding for this project is available.

All bid documents are available in electronic format. They may be viewed online and downloaded without charge and without deposit from www.aeplans.com. AEPlans software and website technical assistance is available at (888) 320-3032 (toll free). Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda. Printed copies of bid documents may be ordered from reprographic companies through the website or by contacting a reprographer directly. Downloaded files may also be printed on the planholder’s own equipment. Addenda will be posted on the AEPlans website. The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the website.

A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at 10:00 AM in room 204 of the Anderson Building, 11275 Glacier Highway, University of Alaska Southeast, Glacier Highway, in Juneau, Alaska and simultaneously by audio conference at (669) 900 6833, toll-free.  The audio conference meeting ID# is 907 796-6480; the passcode is 182300. The audio conference will be followed by a site visit for those attending in person. All interested bidders are invited but not required to participate in the pre-bid conference and/or site visit.

Bid security is required with each bid.  State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after a five percent (5%) preference and Alaska Products Preference have been applied.  See the Instructions for Bidders.
