The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water (DMLW) has received a request from Fairbanks Gold Mining, Inc. (FGMI), #1 Fork Knox Road, Fairbanks, AK 99712 owner and operator of the Fort Knox Mine, to issue a Millsite Lease, ADL 233700, to support mining of the Gil Deposit. The millsite is needed to provide for waste rock and overburden storage, facilities, and equipment support. Mined ore is to be transported to the current Ft. Knox facility for processing.

The Millsite will be located approximately 8 miles East of the current Ft. Knox Mine.  The Millsite is in the Fairbanks Meridian, Township 002 North, Range 003 East Section 11 NW1/4.  Total acreage equals 174 acres.

A written finding is not required under AS 38.05.035(e)(6)(G), and as such a notification of the intent to issue a Millsite lease is not required by AS 38.05.945, and as such this notice is being provided to the public as a courtesy.
