Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) filed TA488-8, seeking to increase its Gas Transfer Price (GTP) from $3.05 per Mcf to $5.10 per Mcf. The GTP is the price that Chugach charges itself for gas from the Beluga River Unit (BRU). The GTP is recovered through Chugach’s cost of power adjustment (COPA) surcharge mechanism. Chugach proposes the new GTP will be recovered through the COPA surcharge that will be effective July 1, 2020.
Chugach states that new drilling projects have been initiated at the BRU during 2020. This results in an increase in projected operations, maintenance and depreciation expenses. In addition, Chugach’s Times Interest Earned Ratio included in the GTP calculation has increased from 1.10 to 1.35. Chugach states that these changes to the GTP revenue requirement, including a decrease in the over-recovery of the GTP balancing account, result in the increase to the proposed GTP.
This notice does not contain all requested revisions and the Commission may approve a rate or classification that varies from that proposed. You may obtain more information about this filing by contacting Arthur W. Miller, Executive Vice President, Regulatory and External Affairs for Chugach, at P. O.
