Regulations dealing with the Alaska Food Code were adopted by the Department of Environmental Conservation on May 6, 2020, with an effective date of June 25, 2020. The regulations have been made permanent and have been filed by the Lt. Governor. The regulations will appear in Register 234, July 2020, of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations changes are summarized as follows:
Amended the Alaska Food Code, Good Manufacturing Practices to include adopting updated federal rules by reference dealing with good manufacturing practices and sanitation at food processing establishments. Other proposed changes include minor amendments for clarity, defining recall procedures, and putting current department policy regarding approved sources for poultry into regulation
