BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Board of Barbers and Hairdressers proposes to update regulations regarding health and sanitation requirements for shops and schools, to implement changes to AS 08.13 enacted under Chapter 23, SLA 18 (SB 4).
The Board of Barbers and Hairdressers (Board) proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 09 of the Alaska Administrative Code including the following:
1. 12 AAC 09.110. Shop owner license, is proposed to amend the requirements for a shop owner license application, and allow for inspection of shops for compliance with the health and sanitary requirements
of 18 AAC 23.
2. 12 AAC 09.125. Requirements for school license; renewal requirements, is proposed to be changed to substitute "shop" for "school", and allow for inspection of schools for compliance with the health and sanitary requirements of 18 AAC 23.
You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Sher Zinn, Regulations Specialist, Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, P.O. The comments must be received not later than 4:30 p.m., April 17, 2020. Comments received after this deadline will not be considered by the Board.

The Board may, but is not required to, answer written questions received after the 10-day cut-off date and before the end of the comment period.
