The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has determined that the permit application for operation of an existing Class III Municipal Solid Waste Landfill, described below, is complete. ADEC is proposing to issue a solid waste permit for the facility.

LOCATION: | Nightmute - Approximately 0.5 miles northeast of the community, within Section 34, Township 5N, Range 88W, Seward Meridian. |
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: | The new landfill will serve the 301 residents of Nightmute. The site will include a solid waste disposal cell and burn unit within a fenced and gated area. |
OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
ADEC is seeking comment regarding the proposed permit only. Notice is given that any person interested may present written comments relevant to the proposed permit to ADEC. Written comments will be included in the record if received before 5:00 p.m. on March 2, 2020.
