The Department of Natural Resources is announcing changes in Title 11 AAC Ch. 4, Ch. 5, Ch. 82, Ch. 83, and Ch. 88 of the Alaska Administrative Code (AAC).

The changes concern payment of oil and gas royalties, rents, and bonuses; mineral leasing practice and procedures, including oil and gas leasing procedures; and definitions regarding mineral leasing. The changes will facilitate online oil and gas lease sales, provide for electronic submissions to the Division of Oil and Gas, and address miscellaneous administrative matters associated with mineral lease sale and mineral lease administration.

The regulation changes were adopted by the Department of Natural Resources on September 13, 2019. The changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor on November 26, 2019.

The regulation changes will go into effect December 26, 2019 and will be printed in Register 232, January 2020 of the Alaska Administrative Code.
