The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to renew Air Quality Control Operating Permit AQ0232TVP04 to the Trident Seafoods Corporation, under Alaska Statutes 46.14 and regulation 18 AAC 50.

Activity: The Sand Point Seafood Processing Facility is a seafood processing facility that generates its own power source. It operates six diesel-fired engine-generators, a fishmeal dryer, three process heat boilers, an assortment of insignificant oil-fired boilers and various tanks to store fuels and oils.
Application: Trident applied for a renewal operating permit on February 25, 2019 and submitted additional information on September 9, 2019.
Emissions: The potential annual emissions of regulated air pollutants at the source will not exceed: 236 tons of Nitrogen Oxides, 52 tons of Carbon Monoxide, 9 tons of Particulate Matter, 57 tons of Sulfur Dioxide, 15 tons of Volatile Organic Compounds, and 0.20 tons of Hazardous Air Pollutants. The potential annual emissions for Greenhouse Gases are estimated at 30,821 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. The total annual potential emissions of regulated air pollutants, other than greenhouse gases, are 369 tons.
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for the Sand Point Seafood Processing Facility.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Notice is also given that any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents by the close of the public comment period. Written comments will be included in the record if received by close of the comment period. ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or State Law. Any person may request a public hearing and that hearing will be held if ADEC finds that good cause exists.
