ITB # 2520S033 Liquid Magnesium Chloride - AMENDED -

The purpose of Amendment #5 is to:

  • Change the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS item 3. SUBMITTING BIDS to allow for electronic submission of bids.
  • Change the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS item 3. SUBMITTING BIDS to remove Fax bid submission as an allowable method for bid submission



The purpose of Amendment #4 is to:

  • Provide answers to questions received.

The purpose of Amendment #3 is to:

  • Revise language from the ITB

The following section is amended to read as follows:

SHIPPING COSTS REIMBURSEMENT: For year one (1) of the contract, the State will pay the contractor based on shipping cost submitted with their bid. For years two (2) through five (5) of the contract, the State will reimburse the contractor for actual shipping costs incurred for complete delivery of the ordered product. In order to be reimbursed the contractor must provide a certified copy of, or the actual shipping invoice.


The purpose of Amendment #2 is to:

  • revise the ITB opening date and time.

Revised ITB Opening Date and Time October 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM Alaska Time

The purpose of Amendment #1 is to:

  • Provide an Amended Bid Schedule.

The Bid Schedule is amended and included with this Amendment #1. Bidders MUST complete and return this amended Bid Schedule in order to be considered responsive. Failure to submit the amended Bid Schedule with your offer will cause your offer to be deemed non responsive and your offer rejected.

Proposals received after the Due Date and Time will be considered Non-responsive.


The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, Statewide Contracting & Procurement, is soliciting bids to result in a multi-year, mandatory use firm and as-needed quantities contract for the purchase of liquid magnesium chloride for four (4) locations within the Southcoast region.

Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.  There are 2 lots.  In order to be considered responsive, bidders must bid on all items within all lots.

The Bid Opening is scheduled for 2:00 PM (Alaska Time) October 9, 2019 at DOT/PF Headquarters, 3132 Channel Drive, Room 350 in Juneau, Alaska.

Copies of bid documents may be downloaded (Adobe Acrobat format) from this Online Public Notice website. If you download the solicitation, you must register with the Procurement Officer listed below to receive subsequent amendments. Failure to contact the Procurement Officer may result in the rejection of your offer.

Copies of the bid documents are also available upon request from the Procurement Officer.
