Notice of Adopted Changes in the Regulations Dealing with Underground Storage Tank Application and Certification Fees

Regulations dealing with underground storage tank application and certification fees were adopted by the Department of Environmental Conservation on August 22, 2019, with an effective date of September 29, 2019. The regulations have been made permanent and have been filed by the Lt. Governor. The regulations will appear in Register 231, October 2019, of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations changes are summarized as follows:

The amendments include an increase in the application fee for certification from $75 to $100; a decrease in fees for initial, renewal and reciprocity certifications from $130 to $60 each; and repeal of the $5 fee for duplicate certificates.  Certification for these occupations is carried out by the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development.  The changes were recommended by the Division to better reflect the level of effort required to process applications and certifications and will reduce the overall cost to UST workers.
