Summary: The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Division of Air Quality, is soliciting proposals from qualified professionals to provide technical support with the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model. In addition to technical support, there are two main objectives of this proposal:
1) To assist in the development of new WRF episodes, which shall replace two existing episodes, to be used in the CMAQ model for the FNSB Non-attainment Area SIP; and
2) To evaluate the feasibility and limitation of using prognostic meteorological data generated by third parties using the WRF model for AERMOD demonstrations in regulatory applications, especially in complex terrain. Work shall include providing support to DEC in developing standardized procedures and guidelines for the evaluation, review and approval of acceptable prognostic meteorological data.
