PUBLIC NOTICE
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) annual auction under AS 38.05.055 will begin March 22. Sealed auction bids are accepted March 22 through June 28. This year’s auction features over 215 parcels statewide. This auction will be a sealed-bid auction. An electronic version of the brochure with information about the procedures and parcels is available at http://landsales.alaska.gov. Auction bidding is limited to Alaska residents.
Free paper brochures will be available at DNR’s Public Information Centers in Anchorage and Fairbanks and the DNR Land Counter in Juneau beginning March 22.
Auction bids will be opened, and apparent winners will be announced on July 10, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at DNR’s offices in Anchorage. Attendance at the bid opening will not affect the outcome.
General Over-the-Counter (OTC) sales, which are open to both Alaska and non-Alaska residents, will follow the auction beginning on July 24 at 10:00 a.m. As in 2018, for the first four weeks of OTC sales, parcels will be priced above the appraised value. DNR will not accept OTC purchase applications by mail. OTC purchase applications will be accepted online and in person only. Pursuant to AS 38.05.945 Notice, the public is invited to submit comment on the proposed auction. The deadline for public comment is 5:00PM, MONDAY, April 22, 2019. Only persons from whom DNR DMLW LSS receives timely, written comment during the identified comment period will be eligible to file an appeal. Written comment may be received by fax, email or postal mail. If no significant change is required, a summary of comments and responses will be issued if any comments are received, and the auction and OTC offerings will proceed as scheduled without further notice.
DNR reserves the right to waive technical defects in this notice.
