DRAFT Comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Program Plan- Public Comment Period Now Open

Strengthening the System:

Comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Program Plan

(FY2020-FY2024)

The Department of Health and Social Services (DHHS) in coordination with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (Trust) and other state boards, commissions, and agencies has developed this draft Comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Program Plan as required under AS 47.30.660.

This draft plan was developed through a stakeholder driven process with a vision for Alaskans to receive comprehensive prevention, treatment, and support services at the appropriate level of care across the lifespan to lead to meaningful lives in their home communities, especially those Alaskans that receive services under this plan.  These recipients, referred to as Trust beneficiaries, are Alaskans who experience a mental illness, a developmental disability, experience chronic alcoholism & drug dependence, or suffer from a traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Also included are individuals at risk of developing these conditions.

DHHS is seeking public comment on the Draft Comprehensive Integrated Mental Health Program Plan. Your comments will be considered by the planning team during finalization of the plan.
